Triple Sectional Garage Doors Transform Oak-Framed Cart Lodge

Doors: 3 × Teckentrup Insulated Sectional Doors
Finish: Smooth Black
Operation: Fully Electric
Key Benefits: Security • Insulation • Automation • Space Saving

The Customer’s Goal – Can sectional doors be fitted to a timber cart lodge?

Our customer wanted to transform their open-fronted cart lodge into a secure, weather-resistant space capable of protecting both vehicles and valuable business equipment. As the building formed part of their day-to-day business operations, it was essential that the solution combined practicality, security and a high-quality finish that complemented the property’s traditional oak frame.

Our Recommendation

To meet the customer’s requirements, we recommended three insulated Teckentrup sectional garage doors, each fitted with electric automation for effortless operation. Sectional garage doors were the ideal choice, opening vertically and tracking neatly beneath the roof structure to maximise both internal headroom and usable space. Their insulated construction also provides excellent thermal performance, enhanced security and smooth, quiet operation.

The Installation

Working within the exposed oak-framed structure required careful surveying and precise installation to ensure each door aligned perfectly within its opening. Once the steel framework and tracking system were installed, the insulated door panels and electric operators were fitted and commissioned, creating a seamless finish that respected the character of the building while introducing modern convenience.

The Result

As you can see from these case studies, the completed installation has completely transformed the appearance and functionality of the cart lodge. What was once an open structure is now a secure, enclosed space that protects vehicles and business equipment from the elements throughout the year.

The sleek black sectional doors complement the traditional oak frame beautifully, creating a striking balance between contemporary design and rustic character. With fully automated operation, improved insulation and enhanced security, the customer now has a practical workspace that’s built to support both everyday life and their business for years to come.

Finish: Smooth White
Operation: Fully Electric
Key Benefits: Security • Insulation • Automation • Space Saving

The Customer’s Goal – Are sectional garage doors better than roller garage doors?

Our customer wanted to replace a pair of ageing up-and-over garage doors with a modern, insulated solution that would improve both the appearance and performance of their garage. They also wanted the convenience of electric operation and a separate personnel door for easy everyday access. Options are simple – sectional doors or roller doors.

Our Recommendation

We recommended a premium Teckentrup insulated sectional garage door, finished with a smooth, contemporary design and paired with a matching personnel door. The sectional door offers excellent thermal performance, enhanced security and quiet, reliable electric operation, making it a practical long-term investment as you can see in these case studies.

The Result

The finished installation has completely transformed the look of the property, replacing the dated up-and-over doors with a sleek, modern design. The insulated sectional door provides improved security, greater energy efficiency and effortless day-to-day use, while the matching personnel door offers convenient access without needing to open the main garage door.

Insulated sectional garage doors continue to grow in popularity, and it’s easy to see why. Combining outstanding security, excellent insulation and a premium finish, they’re rapidly becoming the preferred choice for homeowners, overtaking the popularity of traditional electric roller garage doors for those looking to maximise both style and performance.

Key Benefits: Security • Insulation • Modernising • Space Saving

The Customer’s Goal  – Are insulated side hinged garage doors worth it?

Our customer wanted to enhance the appearance of their property with a garage door solution that complemented both its domestic and commercial use. Maximising the usable space inside the garage was also a key priority, as the building is used to support their business.

Our Recommendation

We recommended a pair of insulated side-hinged garage doors with integrated glazing, providing excellent thermal performance, increased natural light and secure multi-point locking. Side-hinged doors also offer quick and convenient access without needing to open the entire garage, making them ideal for garages used as workshops or business spaces.

The Result

The new installation has transformed the front of the building, giving it a clean, modern appearance while improving security, insulation and everyday practicality. With the side-hinged doors opening neatly outwards, our customer has significantly more usable space inside the garage, allowing them to make better use of the building for their business. The addition of glazed panels also fills the space with natural light, creating a brighter and more welcoming working environment.
